The Triumph of Ron Paulism -- The Burning Platform - The American people are coming to the realization that everything Ron Paul has stood for in the last 40 years is true. He has been proven right regarding the Federal Reserve, the Military Industrial Complex, and the Warfare/Welfare Surveillance State. The American people have grown weary of inflation, wars of choice and being spied upon. Ron Paul’s consistently right message is finally making headway. He is a true American patriot.

Where In The United States Are You Most Likely To Get Arrested For Marijuana? -- The Weed Blog - Getting arrested for marijuana is no joke. Marijuana arrests result in fines, and can result in jail time, loss of driving privileges,  loss of college financial aid, forfeiture of assets, and many other penalties. I’ve only been caught with marijuana one time (half ounce, 2005), but since I live in Oregon where marijuana is decriminalized I only had to pay a fine ($500). I didn’t even have to go to a courtroom. I just had to go to the window at the Clackamas County Courthouse and pay my money.

Making a Killing with Cancer: A 124.6 Billion Dollar Industry -- Organic Prepper - If you had a business that made you well over a hundred billion dollars a year, would you take steps to eradicate the need for your business? Or would you make every effort for that money to keep rolling in?

How I Live Now -- Six Million Pounds - There are many articles on the Manosphere that sell the dream of freedom but few that explain the messy truth of it. Some of these articles are making the same false promises as the pick up industry once did. They are selling the illusion that you may be suddenly reborn as a free human being. In reality it is more like a gradual self extraction from a sticky bog. These articles are sometimes called 'freedom porn' because it describes a life that few of us can imagine- living on a fantasy island somewhere while waiting on our next royalty cheque from our latest ebook.

Hunting Pressure; Survival and Hunting; and Why I Hunt the Way I Do -- Wood Trekker - This lead me to think about hunting in a SHTF survival situation. A while back I did a post about hunting and gathering enough resources to live long term in a survival situation. Many of the responses were by people who felt the need to assure themselves that they could do it, complete with examples of how much game they can kill or trap. I didn’t address those concerns there as the post was not in any way related to the effectiveness of hunting or gathering, but the above situation got me thinking. How much success would a person have hunting if their favorite hunting area looked like the above map? Remember, that was a very regular Monday. What if large numbers of people were hunting the forest in an attempt to feed their families. Unless you own a lot of land, and have come up with a way to protect all of it. the likelihood would be that the high hunting pressure would either drive all of the game out, or that it will be hunted to extinction within weeks of this hypothetical SHTF event.

Take cancer, for example.  Don’t let all the media hype about “The Cure” fool you.  No one who is in a position to do so wants to end cancer because they are all making a killing on the big business of treatment, while ordinary people go broke, suffer horribly, and die.
There will never be a “cure” brought to market because there just isn’t enough profit in eradicating the disease entirely.  There will never be a governing body that protects consumers from being subjected to known carcinogens, because that too, will stop the cash from rolling in. A great deal of research is covered up and many potential cures are ignored and discredited because there is far more money in perpetuating illness than in curing it. In 2012, the reported spending on cancer treatment was 124.6 billion dollars.  Blood money.

The Next Trick Food Companies Will Use to Ruin Your Health -- Resilient Communities - They have even gone so far as to try relabeling some products that have gained a bad reputation; especially high fructose corn syrup.High fructose corn syrup is a popular added sugar because it is much less expensive than refined white sugar. Why? The government provides subsidies to corn farmers while restricting sugar. Once again, we have fallen victim to political posturing aimed at furthering corporate greed at the expense of our health. The latest move by corn syrup refineries is to convince the FDA to relabel corn syrup as corn sugar. Thus far, the move has been unsuccessful because the FDA classifies sugar as a powder. Unfortunately, corn syrup manufacturers simply need to dry the corn syrup into a powder and they will likely get the designation they seek from the FDA.

There Will Always Be a 1% -- Stares at the World -  It’s easy to see where the Occupussies are coming from; we’ll give them a break, and assume that they’re all K-type psychologied individuals: they’re furious about the corruption in our banking sector, they’re incensed by the squeeze on small businesses, and they bemoan the erosion of the Middle Class.  I’m there with ya’, bud; these factors do not a stable society make.

How Mandela's Worshipers are Rewriting History -- Spiked Online - In the seven days since the death of Nelson Mandela, many a Western right-winger has found himself accused of rewriting history. For politicians like David Cameron of Britain’s Conservative Party to gush and blub over Mandela is outrageous, critics claim, considering his party was hardly a friend to the cause of anti-Apartheid in the 1970s and 80s. All this ‘right-wing fawning’ for Madiba – as every white liberal in Christendom has rather embarrassingly taken to calling Mandela – is nauseating, we’re told, given it is coming from some of the same organisations and people who either backed or were ambivalent about Apartheid just 30 years ago. These people are trying to ‘rewrite’ the past, says South Africa-born Labour MP Peter Hain. It’s like Pontius Pilate paying tribute to Jesus Christ, says one melodramatic observer

(An article from the past) A Warning For America From South Africa -- Gemma Meyer - People used to say that South Africa was 20 years behind the rest of the Western World. Television, for example, came late to South Africa (but so did pornography and the gay rights movement). Today, however, South Africa may be the grim model of the future Western world, for events in America reveal trends chillingly similar to those that destroyed our country.

Blogging 'Gays' Urge Murder, Castration of Christians -- Matt Barber - WND summarizes the attacks as follows: "Chanting 'Get your rosaries out of our ovaries," a mob of pro-abortion feminists - many of whom were topless with Nazi swastikas on their chests and foreheads - attacked and sexually molested a group of Roman Catholic men who were praying as they stood outside a cathedral in Argentina to protect it from vandalism."

It happened Dec. 2, 2013, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. LifeSiteNews.com broke the story with the headline: “Violent mob of topless pro-abort feminists attacks praying men defending cathedral.”
The raw footage is disturbing to the extreme (warning: viewer discretion advised for nudity, lesbian lewdness and violence. A censored version is available in this WND story.)
Both the video and the story have since gone viral. WND summarizes the attacks as follows: “Chanting, ‘Get your rosaries out of our ovaries,’ a mob of pro-abortion feminists – many of whom were topless with Nazi swastikas on their chests and foreheads – attacked and sexually molested a group of Roman Catholic men who were praying as they stood outside a cathedral in Argentina to protect it from threats of vandalism.”
WND managing editor David Kupelian called the siege a “display of demonic fury.”
Indeed, it’s hard to watch the footage without discerning the palpably dark spirit that possesses many of the estimated 17,000 lesbian, pro-abortion and feminist assailants (but I repeat myself).

What to Do When You Feel Unmotivated: My Three Favourite Tips -- The Positivity Blog - Some days you wake up motivated and ready to go. On some days things feel heavy and it is hard to get going and find that inner drive. And there are often roadblocks, plateaus and valleys along the way towards what you want where you can fall into a slump. Or get lost in a rut. And you feel like your motivation has flown away. So today I’d like to simply share three of my favorite and in my experience most effective ways to find that motivation again.

The Incredibly Important Facts About Gold As 2014 Nears -- King World News - Many a (more or less) big philosopher has racked his brain as to why money has value.  Aristotle was of the opinion that good money should come with very high production costs so as to induce people to attach value to it.  He claimed that everybody would have to accept it as means of payment, value store, and value benchmark.  Along those lines presented by Aristotle, basically an ancient gold bug, the only materials that would fit this description were gold and silver.  Marxists would hail the reference to production costs, but Plato found a better explanation: from his point of view, money had no intrinsic value except the one that it was given by people.  This reminds us of the marginal theory of value proposed by the Austrian School of Economics.....

New Anti Prostitution Laws in Europe are Misandrist and Insane - Patriactionary -  Unlike historical prostitution bans that penalize sex workers, the new laws target customers, making the purchase of sex illegal rather than its sale. Anyone caught paying for sexual services in France will be subject to a fine of €1,500, rising to a maximum of €3,750 for repeat offenders. This follows a model established in Sweden in 1999, but no country as large as France has yet tried anything similar. Beyond destroying their business, the new rules are supposed to go a little easier on prostitutes themselves. A law that fines prostitutes caught soliciting, introduced under Nicolas Sarkozy’s government, will be repealed. French prostitutes will also get support to leave the business, in the form of easier access to working papers (many are non-EU nationals), housing and a transitional stipend of €383 a month.

Morality and Abstract Thinking -- Locust Blog - My first inklings about what may be a deficiency in abstract thinking came from what I began to learn about African languages. In a conversation with students in Nigeria I asked how you would say that a coconut is about halfway up the tree in their local language. “You can’t say that,” they explained. “All you can say is that it is ‘up’.” “How about right at the top?” “Nope; just ‘up’.” In other words, there appeared to be no way to express gradations.

The Human Animal -- American Renaissance (A dated article/book review, but very interesting and enormously politically incorrect and offensive! Just the kind of stuff I like!) - Self-supporting females in the tropics also meant that dominant men could maintain more than one woman, whereas in the north, it was beyond the abilities of most men to support more than one woman and her children. In the north, because it was the sex that hunts that could offer or withhold meat, it was men, rather than the women, who were in a better bargaining position for choosing mates. They selected for beauty, which is a good proxy for health and fertility and this, according to Mr. Fuerle, led to increased beauty in Eurasian women. ... African men, on the other hand, chose multiple wives on the basis of their ability to gather food or raise crops rather than beauty. At the same time, polygamy meant that some men had no wives at all, and the remaining, smaller number of women were in a position to take their pick from among the men. Since African women, unlike northern women, could support themselves, they chose men, not according to whether they were “good providers,” but according to their beauty. Thus, writes Mr. Fuerle, African men are more handsome than African women. This may also explain data that suggest African women have higher IQs than African men: Since women selected men for beauty rather than ability, there was not as much of a premium on intelligence.

6 Trees Every Survivalist Should Know -- The Art of Manliness - Being able to identify trees can not only be a source of pleasure, as the first Boy Scouts Handbook opined, but a matter of survival. If you become lost in the woods, trees are an abundant and easy-to-utilize resource, and can be used in a variety of ways, including as food, shelter, cordage, and materials for fire-starting and tool-making.

For the Children -- Hawaiian Libertarian - "The best thing for a child is for their parents to be happy..." is one of the biggest loads of bullshit ever propagated by our regularly scheduled mass media programming. At it's root, this pervasive meme is based on myopic, narcissistic selfishness, and is steroids for both male and female rationalization hamsters everywhere.

DIY Fire Starter in a Drinking Straw -- Sensible Survival - This is one of the best and most convenient fire starters that I've come across in a long time.  Many of us know that cotton balls rubbed with petroleum jelly make great fire starters, but they are messy and not real convenient to carry.  This method makes it easy to carry these little fire balls and they won't leak and get on your clothing or other gear.  All you need to make these is some cotton balls, petroleum jelly, a plastic drinking straw, a pair of scissors, and a small stick.

Is War With China Inevitable? -- Alt-Market.com -  As a general rule, extreme economic decline is almost always followed by extreme international conflict. Sometimes, these disasters can be attributed to the human survival imperative and the desire to accumulate resources during crisis. But most often, war amid fiscal distress is usually a means for the political and financial elite to distract the masses away from their empty wallets and empty stomachs.

Here Are the Most Frightening Statistics as We Head Into 2014 -- King World News“So I’ve thought about some things that investors must not do in 2014, or don’ts as I call them:  Don’t hold major amounts of cash.... don't hold bonds... don't hold paper money, especially US dollars... don't hold stocks (the only exception to that will be precious metals mining stocks which are massively oversold and likely to have a spectacular run)... don't have debts or be highly leveraged... don't have counter-party risk... . What about do's? Well, precious metals is at the top of that list.

[Regarding the economy & stock markets]  I have a very hard time believing that this wounded beast can run that much farther into the woods. It’s hemorrhaging blood and both lungs are collapsed. It might twitch until 2016 but it’s going down in 2014. If it does not, then I will truly believe in magic because magic would be the only means capable of resurrecting this poor animal.

What's the Forecast? Economically speaking, existing conditions are cloudy with a chance of a storm.
